“I am looking forward to this new challenge and will fight as hard as I can for the team,” the German stated. “Being in a private team we will have to fight very hard to keep up with the factory teams, but that just motivates me even more. Number 66 is back!”
“Luis D’Antin is a very well-known and experienced man in the MotoGP paddock. I am very happy with our agreement and have every faith in his team as I know they will give me the very best opportunity possible. After a season to forget in which I had a lot of bad luck, I am very motivated for this new challenge.”
“Obviously I was worried about my future (after leaving Kawasaki), but these last few weeks have been very hard for a number of riders. In the end I was able to seal this agreement which has given me the privilege of demonstrating my potential in the premier class.”
“At the moment I am feeling very good. I returned for the last race of the season in Valencia and, to be honest, it was a bit too soon for me and it proved to be a very hard weekend. But my recuperation has gone really well since and I am now preparing for the next test in Sepang. Over the Christmas period I will be at home with my family and for the New Year I will be going to Switzerland with them, but while I’m there I will step up my fitness programme by doing a lot of sports, like skiing.”
