Honda S500

The S500 was the first production car from Honda, released in 1963, following the T360 truck into production by four months. It was a follow-on to the S360 roadster which, though developed for sale in 1962, was never produced.

Like the S360, the S500 used a high-tech engine developed from Honda's motorcycle expertise. It was a dual overhead cam straight-4 with four carburettors and a 9500 rpm redline. Originally intended to displace 492 cc, the production version was 531 cc and produced 44 hp (33 kW) at 8000 rpm. Weighing just 1500 lb (680 kg), the tiny S500 could hit 80 mph (129 km/h). This setup enables a 9500 rpm redline and can safely spin to above 11,000 revs

The S500 used a 4-speed manual transmission with chain drive at the rear wheels. A four-wheel independent suspension was also novel, with torsion bars in front and diagonal coilover shock absorbers at the rear.

The car was priced at $1,275 in 1963. A fiberglass hardtop was also available. 1,363 S500s were produced from October 1963 through September 1964.

Honda S600

The Honda S600 is an automobile manufactured by Honda. It was launched in March of 1964. It was the first Honda car to be offered in two versions, as convertible, bearing strong resemblance to the Honda S500, and as a fastback coupe introduced in March of 1965. During its production run up to 1966, the model styling would remain pretty much the same, with the most notable changes coming to the front grille, bumper, and headlights.

Powered by a DOHC, water-cooled, in-line 4 cylinder engine with four carburetors, the engine capacity was increased to 606 cc from the S500's 492 cc. The engine produced 57 hp (43 kW) at 9500 rpm and had a top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h). With the convertible weighing in at mere 1576 pounds, the extra sheet metal of the coupe only added 33 pounds to the overall weight. Suspension was independent with sealed roller chain drive to each rear wheel.

The S600 was the first "mass marketed" Honda car. First offered only with right hand steering. It soon became available in left hand steering so as to be appealing to the export market. (There were a few pre-production S500s manufactured with left hand steering, two or three even being shown in some early sales brochures, but all production S500s were right hand drive.)

Both the S600 roadster and coupe were available in standard trim and a special, upgraded package called the SM600 which included, among other items, special paint colors, exclusive badging, a standard radio and speaker, a special antenna in the passenger side sun visor, standard reversing lights, a standard cigarette lighter, a standard heater, better cushioned seats, and a detachable seat track for quick removal of the passenger seat.


Production of the S600 was much greater than that of its predecessor, the S500. In fact, of the three production engine sizes for the sports cars, the S600 had the highest figures.

Honda built 3,912 roadsters in 1964, with production climbing to 7,261 convertibles and 1,519 coupes in 1965. Production dropped off in 1966 (as they were shifting to the S800) with only 111 roadsters and 281 coupes, giving tallies of 11,284 convertibles and 1,800 coupes for the 3 year span.

Honda S800

The S800 was a sports car from Honda. Introduced at the 1965 Tokyo Motor Show, the S800 would replace the successful Honda S600 as the company's image car.

Like the S600, it was available as either a coupe or roadster and continued the advanced technology of its predecessors. the 791 cc straight-4 engine produced 70 hp (52 kW) at 8000 rpm, pushing the car to 100 mph (160 km/h) but still allowing for 35 mpg (6.7 L/100 km).

Early examples continued to use the chain drive and independent suspension in the rear, but after these cars (752 roadsters and 242 coupes) were produced, Honda switched to a conventional live axle rear end with four radius rods and a Panhard rod. 604 roadsters and 69 coupes were built with this setup before disc brakes replaced the front drums.

In 1968, the S800M was introduced with flush door handles and side marker lights outside, dual-circuit brakes and lean carburetion under the hood, and safety glass. These changes were made for the American market, but the car was never imported officially. Production ended in May 1970 with 11,536 S800s produced.

Upravo sam to htjeo reci, fico 750 je imao 26HP heeheh, eh onda se spusti glava, uradi se auspuh, polira se usisna grana, i karburator se zamjeni i dobijes tacno 32HP Smile Mislim to je tad bila fora prava s ficom, ali ovo sto je Honda napravila nema diskusije NAJJACI SU!!!!!

P.S: Na fici je pisalo 45000 o/min ali nije se mogao zavrititi zbog duzine klipa i samog hoda istog!

kad sam pronasao specifikacije ovih automobila na netu, zakljucio sam da Honda nije Honda u zadnjih 20 godina, vec to seze dosta dalje u proslost
